Today’s lecture covered information dealing with the net and the web. The web is the part of the Internet that we use to gain data and information from, while the net is the part of that makes the web work without the net we couldn’t have to web. Tim Berners-lee created the web in 1989 to allow research to be shared between people everywhere. The web runs off a massive network called the Internet.
There are different search browsers that allow us to access the information out there on the web these are Internet Explorer, FireFox and NeoPlanet.
During today’s tutorial we looked at a few websites and determined if they were authentic or not. The website http://www.molossia.org/ looks like a realistic website but in fact it is not. This can be determined by the following
-the navy boats are rubber duckies
-if it was a real government site it would have .gov at the end not org
: www.haggishunt.scotsman.com
-the video links when clicking on one that says you will see a group of haggis you see a group of people
-you can apparently buy haggis in a tin after spoting it, haggis is the insides of a gut isnt it?
